Horrible second part of the journey to Denver.....
Journey to Denver was going well until I crossed the state line from Wyoming to Colorado….. 10 mins later it was total carnage on the road (Interstate 25), sheet ice everywhere and dumping snow! There were cars and big trucks going off the road everywhere! Over a distance of approx 1 ½ miles I saw at least 10 accidents! 2 cars spun off the road straight in front of me and went in to the field running parallel to the road. There were 4 separate incidents where at least 1 car ended up on its roof!
One particular crash involving about 5 cars looked really serious. There were 2 guys working on somebody who was lying unconscious by the side of the road……….
Fortunately I managed to avoid hitting anything or leaving the road, however, it was VERY scary indeed, I shit myself!!! I actually felt sick for a good hour afterwards……..

2 day old skis completely trashed!!!
Check out the bent ski, only the second day on these skis! This was the end result following a particularly difficult run, which ended with me going down the hill on my head...........!
Hopefully K2 will replace them under warranty......???

The Journey to Jackson Hole......
Following three great days in Steamboat it was time to head off to my next destination, Jackson Hole !
According to my sat nav it was approximately a 400 mile journey, should take around 8 hours, and would pass over the Continental Divide a number of times.
I left Steamboat at around 10.30am, the weather cold but sunny, and hit the highway. The journey was an absolute joy!!! Amazing landscape, long, long straight roads and very few other vehicles!
Cruising along in my big V8 4x4 Jeep with the most eclectic pumping tunes, courtesy of Sirius DAB radio, the time and miles simply passed by……………
160 miles straight on, and I had already covered approx 230 miles! |
........and at the end of the journey I arrive at my lovely wood cabin where I will stay for the next 4 days!
